SABI SALONE – TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Welcome to Sabi Salone, a digital platform provided by the Institute for Development (IfD), registered in Sierra Leone. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Platform.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using our Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. Your continued use constitutes acceptance of any future modifications.
2. Definitions
- "IfD" or "the Company" refers to the Institute for Development, which manages the Sabi Salone Platform.
- "User" or "You" means any person or entity accessing or using the Platform.
- "Content" means all data, policies, legal documents, strategies, and other materials available on the Platform.
- "Services" means the functions and features provided through the Platform.
3. Use of the Platform
- Permitted Use: The Platform is provided solely for lawful, educational and research purposes and for accessing government-published data and legal documents in a fast and efficient manner using Artificial intelligence.
- Prohibited Conduct: You agree not to misuse the Platform, interfere with its operations, or attempt unauthorized access. You must not reproduce or modify any Content except as expressly permitted.
4. Source and Ownership of Content
Government-Sourced Content
Most of the data, policies, legal strategies, and laws available on the Platform are sourced from the Government of Sierra Leone and other public institutions. IfD does not claim ownership of such content.
IfD-Provided Content
Any original commentary, organization, or supplemental information provided by IfD remains our property, subject to the limitations set forth in these Terms.
Third-Party Intellectual Property
All Content provided by government sources is subject to the applicable copyrights and usage terms of those entities. Your use of such Content must comply with any restrictions imposed by the original publishers.
5. Data Collection and Use
We only collect the following personal data to facilitate your use of our Platform:
- Email Address
- First Name and Surname
- Country Location
This information is collected solely for communication and account management purposes. We do not share your personal data with third parties except as required by law or necessary to provide our Services.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Platform and all Content are provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. IfD does not warrant that the Content—particularly government-sourced materials—will be complete, or up-to-date. Use the Platform and verify any information.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, IfD and its officers, employees, agents and partners shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. In no event shall our total liability exceed any fees paid (if applicable) for access to the Platform.
8. Modifications
We reserve the right to revise these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on the Platform and become effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use after modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sierra Leone. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be resolved first through negotiation, and if necessary, through the courts of Sierra Leone.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform without prior notice if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, all rights granted to you will cease immediately.
11. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and IfD regarding your use of the Platform.
- Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
- Waiver: A failure by IfD to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not be deemed a waiver of future enforcement.
